The Spud Robot is a three wheeled autonomous robot. It is designed to be a multi purpose robot with the ability to be adapted to many different tasks.

The main components of the robot are:

Tubular frame
2 wheelchair motors
leisure battery
laptop computer running windows and the Spud Ai program
K8055 USB interface card
Sabertooth motor controller
IP camera

Extra peripherals like arms sensors etc.. can be added to the robot.

Control of the robot is done through the laptop running the Spud Ai software. The Ai is a powerful tool that links all the functions together and processing them through its neural networks.

Two robots have been built, Robot One was built using angle iron and wood with two batteries. This robot is about twice the size of robot two and can double up as a trolley able to carry heavy objects. You can also sit on it and drive it around. It has a sound system, network hub, compass and web cam. Motor control on Robot One is done using relays.

Robot Two is the result of lessons learnt from Robot One. Two is smaller, more compact and has much better control over the motors which are now directly connected to nodes in the Ai Brain.
